Internet access in Kalikot village


Internet service has been started for the first time in rural Raskot area of remote Kalikot district with the initiatives of a youth.
The internet service was installed in Panchadeval Higher Secondary School based in Mehalmudi VDC with the lone efforts of Santosh Kumar Shahi of Sipkhana VDC-2 of the district. Shahi, who completed his Intermediate in Computer Science from the Pokhara-based Western Regional Campus of Institute of Engineering, installed the WiMAX internet service.
Shahi said that he aims to expand internet access to the schools of Raskot area in Kalikot district adding that his efforts are going on.
A school needs to bear as high as Rs 50,000 in cost for the WiFi service installation, he said.
With the beginning of the internet service, Hansaraj Neupane has started telemedicine service at Serchaur of Sipkhana VDC in the district.
